De Biesbosch National Park
Unique nature reserve
De Biesbosch National Park is one of the few fresh water tidal regions in the world. The park consists of a network of streams and rivers that are constantly changing due to the tides. Its unique ecosystem makes it a haven for many different types of animals. Whether you want to relax and unwind or are looking for a bit of adventure, De Biesbosch National Park is a versatile destination.
De Biesbosch is home to various animals. The beaver is the most extraordinary one, which is why it was the obvious choice as a symbol of the park. These industrious rodents have already built over 100 lodges in the wetlands of De Biesbosch. The area is also a paradise for bird lovers, with hundreds of species of birds. The sea eagle and osprey are permanent residents and can be spotted in this area throughout the year.
